Theme: "Celebrating Independence Day"
1. Reading Text (Bacaan)
Title: Indonesia's Independence Day Celebration
Every year on August 17th, Indonesians celebrate Independence Day (Hari Kemerdekaan). This day marks the country's freedom from colonial rule in 1945. People celebrate with flag ceremonies, games, and festivals.
In my school, we have a flag-raising ceremony in the morning. Students and teachers wear red and white uniforms. After the ceremony, we play traditional games like "balap karung" (sack race), "tarik tambang" (tug of war), and "makan kerupuk" (cracker eating contest).
At home, my family and I decorate our house with red and white flags. Sometimes, we watch the President’s speech on TV. In the evening, many neighborhoods hold community events with music and food.
Independence Day is a joyful and meaningful day for all Indonesians!
