Basic English Learning Materials

1. Cardinal Numbers & Ordinal Numbers

Cardinal Numbers are used for counting (one, two, three...).
Ordinal Numbers are used to show order or position (first, second, third...).

Note: For most ordinal numbers, just add -th to the cardinal number (e.g., four -> fourth). Exceptions are first, second, third, fifth, eighth, ninth, and twelfth.

Example:

• "I have two apples." (Cardinal)

• "This is my second apple." (Ordinal)

• "Her birthday is on May 5th (fifth)."

2. Days of the Week

There are seven days in a week.

Important Rules:

• Capital Letter: Always write the days with a capital letter.

• Preposition: Use on with days.

  • "I go to school on Monday."

  • "The party is on Saturday."
